A brief update on Lady Betty's Drive as I have a little more information.

Hampshire received 85 detailed comments on the plans for Lady Betty's Drive and is in the process of answering each one in detail. This takes quite a time.

As part of the planning application we need to outline what consultation has taken place, what comments were made, our response to all these comments and any changes to the plans that we intend to make as a result of the comments. All this has to be included in a planning application.

So there is still a lot of work to do.

The target date for submitting a planning application is late September, but this depends on completion of the paperwork.

Hope this helps.

It appears plans to submit the development for approval are on hold. The County Officers were surprised by the level of opposition from residents who had raised many issues which need to be resolved.

A preliminary plan has been released by HCC and this will form the basis of the consultation. PLease take time to read the attached because it's important to raise any concerns now whilst it's awaiting planning approval.

The planning application for Lady Betty's Drive will be submitted by Hampshire County Council to Winchester City Council in early April.

Prior to this the following arrangements are being proposed.

Details of the proposed plans will be sent to Whiteley East Residents Association and to the Whiteley Parish Council on 21 February.

A mailshot will be delivered to all homes in Leafy Lane and Bader Way and the roads nearby and obviously also Lady Betty's Drive on 28 February.

A public exhibition of the plans will be held at the Meadowside Centre on March 11 and 12 at which officers of Hampshire will be present.
